Mini-Economy
What is a classroom mini-economy?
The Classroom Mini-Economy is an experience-based program that taps into the creativity of young students. Participants learn economics, entrepreneurship and government through interactive simulations. They establish their own economy, design and print their own money, plan and open businesses, and create a functioning government. Experiential program the promotes collaboration, team-planning and integrates into multiple subjects in social studies and beyond.
Students acquire multiple skills from participating in the Mini-Economy:
Goal-setting and responsibility
Cooperative learning
Experience with entrepreneurship in an authentic market situation
Creative problem-solving
Crossover instruction in language arts, math, art, and social studies
